Former Presidential Candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye has criticized the manner in which the Uganda Communications Commission has forcefully mandated Media Houses to broadcast president Museveni’s New Year Message.
Besigye who took that question on his Twitter handle, noted that its unfair for the government regulatory organ to hold private media houses at a ransom yet the country has state owned Media Houses.
He however added that through order has been passed, UCC will not force Ugandans to listen to what he described as perpetual lies.
The NRM Junta May Force broadcasters to air Mr M7’s message, but how will they force people to switch on and listen to the perpetual lies? @UCC_Official @Parliament_UG @ntvuganda @dailynation @DailyMonitor @nbstv @observerug @BBCAfrica @CNNAfrica @UgandaMediaCent pic.twitter.com/moXHMd6mQd
