The retired Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo has died today morning of cancer of the esophagus. He has died at the age of 91 years from Kampala Hospital at 11am.

Archbishop Nkoyoyo served as archbishop between 1995 and 2004 after Yona Okoth. He was later replaced by archbishop, Luke Orombi.
Very many people remember him as a man of God who spearheaded the improvement of the Namugongo Anglican shrine. Even after his retirement, he kept encouraging all Anglicans to continue developing the shrine because it is very significant in the Anglican faith.
The body of the retired archbishop is currently at Kampala hospital and will be taken to All Saints Church and later to Namirembe Cathedral before being taken to his home in Mukono.
May his soul rest in peace.
