Tumwebaze praises Opposition MPs for denouncing ‘Tubalemese’ Campaign

Minister Frank Tumwebaze

The minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Frank Tumwebaze has hailed opposition Members of Parliament for denouncing Tubalemese campaign.

These Lawmakers include Hon. Joseph Ssewungu Kalungu West, Aruu county member of parliament Odonga Otto, and Simon Oyet of Nwoya county

In a comment made via his tweeter handle, Minister Tumwebaze says that Uganda’s opposition plays monkey politics which will not survive.

He adds that he is happy that eventually opposition stood against Besigye’s irresponsible activism.

Yesterday the three lawmakers said that Besigye and his team should stop fooling and taking Ugandans for granted by introducing unpopular campaigns.

According to Ssewungu, he noted that the population is fatigued with politics and now needs reconciliation not more confusion.

Early this month, Dr Kizza Besigye flanked by a number of FDC members including the Party’s President Patrick Amuriat, launched the “Tubalemese” campaign which is aimed at rallying the public towards boycotting companies run and owned by ruling party members.

On the same day, Besigye also announced that he will swear-in members of what he called the “people’s government” that will spread the new campaign.

The dissenting members say the will to claim power should not supersede the need for a working government which future leaders will inherit.
