Uganda police spokesperson Emilian Kayima has called upon Ugandans to give the institution credibility in the promotion of Law and order.
Speaking while appearing on the Capita Gang early this morning, Kayima said that its on record police under the leadership of Gen. Kale Kayihura has tremendously performed better than others including that of Gen. Katumba Wamala.
He says Uganda police has not only focused on one project but has successfully multitasked and achieved 90% of its missions.
Kayima adds that police has increased and boosted capacity building, better accommodation among others unlike in Gen. Katumba’s regime who prioritized salary enhancement of officers and their welfare.
“We have now increased, Capacity building is increasing, accommodation has been a thorn. Gen. Katumba wished to have stabilized welfare of the officers, earning a fair salary & their need to sleep well, that Gen Kale has done & a lot of things.” Kayima said.
It should not be forgotten that Over 25 women were last year murdered by unknown assailants who first raped them, inserted sticks in their private parts and then dumped their bodies in Entebbe and Nansana areas of Wakiso district till now there is no clear report about this matter regardless of the fact that even the Head of State President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni joined the team that madly demanded for positive results.
There was the related saga of Hit men (Kijambia Men) in the greater Masaka region where people were butchered like animals and till now, one can’t climax that something highly credible has been done to bring the perpetrators to book.
On 09th January, police led by Gen. Kale Kayihura paraded youths said to have been incidental in the murders that took place on New Year eve and early morning of 1st January 2018. This gang of thugs armed with sticks, knives & other implements was said to have attacked different places in Lwengo & Bukomansimbi districts killing & robbing people.
According to the IGP Kale Kayihura, the a key suspect, Galiwango Musa & his criminal associates were scooped and on Monday 8th January 2018 appeared before court in Masaka and remanded but till now, there is no development related the murders.
Further more, a number of people have in past year have also been attacked, robbed and others killed by members of the notorious Kifeesi gang especially in areas surrounding Kampala but there has not yet been a smooth trial to see that the perpetrators are brought to book.
