Gen. David Muhoozi, The chief of Defense Forces has finally given his take on the arrest of Kitatta and other Boda boda 2010 members.
Speaking to the media yesterday during the launch of the Tarehe Sita week at the military base in Mbuya, Muhoozi noted that he does not regret arresting Kitatta and his gang since they had become a security threat.
Muhoozi added that regardless of Kitatta’s position in the ruling party, the Uganda People’s Defense forces shall never comprise their role for sake of an individual.
He also says that the operation has in no way undermined the relationship with Uganda police force and the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura since they all have a mandate to protect all Ugandans.
Abudallah Kitatta, and the other leaders of the Boda Boda 2010 group were arrested recently, subsequently charged and remanded in Kigo prison over allegation of theft and failure to protect firearms.
