Kamuli doctors fail to operate x-ray machine for 17 years.

The only X-ray machine installed at Kamuli referral hospital in 2001 which was donated and installed in 2001 has never been used despite having been installed in good working condition.

Hospital administrators claim that initially there was nobody to operate it and even when they hired a radiographer he was unable to read the instructions, which were written in Spanish.

However, this has caused very many patients to complain about the failure to use the machine hence increasing their expenditure.
“We have to seek for X-ray services at private health facilities around Kamuli town, or in Jinja regional referral hospital, located 62km away. These health facilities are very expensive,” said one of the Kamuli residents.
The residents have called upon Ministry of Health to come to their rescue and send them qualified personnel who can operate the x-ray machine.
