Stop sympathizing with criminals – Police

IGP Kale Kayihura

The Uganda Police Force have warned all Ugandans to always give room to for the law to do its work other than sympathizing with criminals.

This followed the arrest of the former DPC Buyende district Muhammad Kirumira over misconduct contrary to police act.

The police spokesperson Emillian Kayima also warned all the other officers to avoid unnecessary excitement and outrageous behaviors that may spoil the police image.

He adds that all officers regardless of the rank must comply with the police act and required minimum standards citing that kirumira’s shameful arrest must serve as a warning to other officers to address their issues through the approved proper channels provided.

Kirumira was last week charged with a number of offences including corruption, extortion and unnecessary exercise of authority dating back between 2013 and 2014 while still in Nansana and Old Kampala as OC station and Division Police Commander respectively.
