Uganda Police officers have killed two armed robbers in Bweyogerere a Kampala suburb.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Oyesigire,
two armed robbers were killed after injuring one woman identified as Joselyn Agaba commonly known as Mrs. Rwabyoona of businesswoman at Rwabyoona Plaza and broke into her money counter.
The robbers later hijacked a vehicle belonging to a driving school as they tried to flee the scene.
“We were informed and followed them as they headed towards JOKAS Hotel Stage where they decided to use a motorcycle due to heavy jam. Our officers in a joint chase together with crime preventers and Bodaboda riders yielded the much expected success and put them out of action at Industrial Park Namanve during cross fire exchange.” Police revealed.
Money amounting to Uganda Shillings 180000/=, US Dollars 100, two dagger knives, two hood masks, SMG gun with 9 cartridges and two mobile phones.
Doctors at Gwatiro Hospital have confirmed that Jocelyn’s condition is under control and has currently been discharged.
The bodies of the robbers have been taken to Mulago Mortuary for Post Mortem.
