Go back to Kampala now, Mbale police tells off Besigye

Besigye delivered his speech, and for the first time, he respected police orders.

Police in Mbale has this evening threatened to arrest opposition’s Dr. kiiza Besigye.

Besigye was in the town on an invitation by the Busitema University Rotaractors 2nd Anniversary at Mbale Resort.

The former presidential aspirant was first shocked by the decision by the police to order the Hotel management to stop function or ask organizers to order the Guest of Honour (President Kizza Besigye) to leave before they arrest him.

Besigye had been invited, to among other things talk to Rotaractors, who are mainly medical students on ethics, discipline and goodwill.

However before leaving, Besigye said, “I am sure when you invited me, you knew you were taking a risk. Unfortunately that risk has come to pass. I have been told there are gentlemen (Police) down here who have ordered that I must leave. That is why I have been requested by organisers to give my speech now and leave. So I will just do that and leave because I am your guest. In other circumstances, I am sure, you know I would act differently.”

Later Besigye left venue before cutting cake and dinner.
