Gov’t has neglected Baseball – Barbie Kyagulanyi

Barbie

The wife to Kyandondo East Member of Parliament, Barbie Kyagulanyi flagged off the National Baseball Championships that are going to go on for over a month.

While at the National baseball stadium in Gayaza Kyadondo East constituency that is represented by her husband Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, Barbie was able to identify that the government has ignored such a sport which is as good as other sports that the government is paying attention to.

“Baseball in Uganda is not funded by the government which is sad and unbelievable. The piece of land where the stadium sits was donated by the catholic church Gayaza Parish and not the government,” she noted.

Much more, Barbie was able to identify that the baseball national team has topped all Championships in East Africa and have been champions for 10 years.

Barbie has however called upon the government to come in and help the baseball team because currently it is struggling to get funds to sponsor teachers to learn baseball so that they can be able to teach their students.
