The Kampala traffic police has come up with an initiative of a sensitization campaign aimed at creating awareness among motorists and other road users on importance of safety and good road usage.
This was during a joint meeting between the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander SSP. Norman Musinga and leaders of different bodaboda organizations
According to Musinga, this was aimed to get the way forward following the recent operations targeting unroadworthy motorcycles, drunk riders, those without riding permits, and other incompetent riders.
The bodaboda riders pledged to work hand in hand with police in mobilizing different members of their associations to participate in the sensitization programs geared at understanding the law better as well as enhancing voluntary compliance to traffic laws and regulations.
SSP. Musinga also revealed that, riders are to be sensitized on road safety tips, traffic signs, road markings, road use discipline and on how to fine tune their road culture in the interest of their own safety and that of others.
