Court summons Kamya for ‘disturbing’ Lukwago

Minister Betty Kamya with Lukwago

Following the numerous and endless battles between Kampala City Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago and the Minister Betty Kamya, a number of efforts have been put in place to have the hatched buried.

However before the mediation and brotherly efforts being effected, the High court in Kampala has summoned Minister Kamya.

According to the court order issued by Justice Henrietta Wolayo, Kamya has been directed to appear before it on 24th April 2018 to be cross-examined on allegations that she is interfering with the executive powers of the Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago.

This was a request by Ssalongo Elias Lukwago through his lawyer Chrysostom Katumba who described Kamya moves as illegal since she lacks people’s mandate.

On issuing the summon, judge Wolayo first asked both Kamya and Lukwago to first exhaust avenues of settling their differences out of court with the help of a court-appointed mediator which all have to be done before 24th/April 2018.
