The Uganda women national football team Crested Cranes returned home on Thursday morning safely from Machakos where they had gone to play the first round first leg of the Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifier against the Kenya Harambe Starlets.
The Crested Cranes lost 1-0 to the hosts in a game played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The team of 20 players and 11 officials arrived by Bus and were taken to FUFA technical center Njeru, for residential training ahead of the return leg on Sunday 8th April, at the StarTimes Stadium.
The team will have light training at the artificial turf later today before embarking on double training sessions on Friday.
Saturday training will be held in the morning at the StarTimes Lugogo, where the return leg will be played.
‘We want the players get used to playing on the turf as our crucial match against Kenya will be at the same surface’ said Bulega.
The head Coach remains optimistic about her team’s chances despite the loss.
