The minister of ICT, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze has asked the government to allocate more funds for the growth of ICT innovations.
While showcasing ICT innovations today at Information Access Centre of the ICT, Tumwebaze promised to lobby government to support ICT innovations.
“With more government funding, the ICT Ministry will be able to support more ICT innovators whose applications prove to be having demand on market,” assured Frank Tumwebaze.
Frank Tumwebaze also promised the innovators that he is ready to convince cabinet and Parliament to procure locally made systems before running fore foreign ones.
“We shall move to convince cabinet and Parliament of Uganda to regulate that all MDAs procure locally made system than foreign ones,” he said.
Much more, Frank Tumwebaze has asked the youths to use ICT skills to create jobs and reduce on the idleness.
