SC Villa hits Police FC, seals table standings with 4 points difference

Sports Club Villa Jogoo Salongo won 1-0 against visiting Police at the Masaka Recreational stadium on Wednesday during match day 23 of the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Martin Kizza scored the lone strike of the day, his 9th of the season in the league.

The goal arrived in the 50th minute following a goal-less opening 45 minutes of play.

Ambrose Kirya had been withdrawn at the start of the second half for Yubu Bogere.

The Jogoo’s other changes saw Abel Eturude come on for George Ssenkaba on 65 minutes and Vitalis Tabu replacing the goal hero with eight minutes to the end of the game.

Police endured the last 25 minutes of the match with 10 men following a red card to Ibrahim Kibumba by referee Muzamiru Tulu.

This is SC Villa Jogoo Salongo’s 15th victory of the season in 23 matches which drives the team to 49 points and maintains the number one status quo aloft the rest of the 15 Azam Uganda Premier League clubs.

Martin Kizza is now on 9 goals, just two shy from the current league top scorer Nelson Senkatuka of Bright Stars.
