Lukwago turns down night travel to Mbale

Lukwago setting off to Mbale Early this morning

Kampala City Lord Mayor yesterday turned down his night travel to Mbale for the next episode of the ongoing Age limit constitutional court hearing.

According to the Mayors official aid, revealed that the travel was postponed over security reasons.

It said that Lukwago who is leading the of petitioners against the controversial age limit bill, was meant to travel with sensitive documents in the highly anticipated case something that forced the team to arrange for the travel during daytime.

Lukwago has set off from Kampala and he is raveling in a convey led by the Leader of Opposition Hon. Winnie Kiiza and Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Betty Nambooze.

The case hearing in Mbale resumes tomorrow Tuesday with the cross examination some top government officials who were summoned by court on Lukwago’s request. The officials they want to be cross-examined are the Chief of Defence Forces Gen. David Muhoozi, head of public service John Mitala, MPs Moses Balyeku and Margaret Muhanga and the Secretary to Treasury Keith Muhakanizi. Other officials that the petitioners want summoned by court are; police officers Frank Mwesigwa and Asuman Mugyenyi, the Clerk to Parliament Jane Kibirige and the Sergeant At Arms Ahmed Kagoye.
