Former presidential Candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye Kifeefe has called upon responsible authorities to intensively fight for the rights of inmates.
This comment follows weird allegations that implicate some police officers in scandals of raping female suspects in cells.
Besigye notes that such Grave allegations indeed that require visible, effective response and need to come to an end.
This illicit act has forced residents to threaten to hold a protest against officers that have continuously harassed locals in Abim district a crime contrary to their constitutional mandate to protect the public and keep law and order.
However according Mr Hashaka Mpimbaza, the Abim resident district commissioner confirmed the allegations noting that special investifgations into the matter have already kicked off.
He added that its true he has received several complaints from the locals, including one about a police officer impregnating a teenage girl, who has since been sent away from Alerek Senior Secondary School.
