Parliamentary Defence and Internal Affairs Committee yesterday visited Police headquarters in Naguru on a working visit to assess the ongoing construction at the Head Quarters.
Places visited included staff quarters and the proposed construction of the National Forensic laboratory at Naguru base.
The forensic laboratory will ease investigations and providing judicial evidence which has been a challenge during court prosecution.
The forensic project is to sit on 6.5 acres of land at Naguru.
The committee also toured the police staff apartments which are under construction. The construction of the staff quarters commenced in 2014 and are expected to be completed 2019.
The housing units are to accommodate officers of lower ranks.
The chairperson of the committee and Woman Member of Parliament for Mityana district Hon. Judith Nabakooba has appreciated the work done by police engineering team in charge of the construction and promised to support the infrastructural projects so as to secure the country.
