NBS’s Lutaya suffering for fighting for Justice – FDC

The forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has condemned the manner in which former parliamentary aspirant and Journalist Simon Muyanga Lutaya is being treated.

On making a comment immediately after his arrest, the party Deputy Secretary General Harold Kaija said that its unfortunate Muyanga is being tortured for trying to fight for justice.

“First they stole his elections, as a civilized person, He went to Court to seek Justice, he was not only denied justice and made him pay a price for reporting a Vote thief! He called upon his friends to mobiliser money to pay the vote thief, the Police stopped his fundraising meetings, they threatened to arrest him.” Kaija noted.

In this same development, a strong campaign aimed to fundraise money to free one of the leading talk show hosts has started by FDC in partnership with his friends.

According to the organization, Hon Asuman Kiyingi has been voted as the chairperson of the campaign, deputized by senior Counsel Paul Luganda, the Treasurer is Hon. Proscovia Salaamu-Musumba and finally one representing his Work Place is Journalist Sam Ibanda Mugabi

In 2016 elections Muyanga Lutaaya was contesting for Bulamogi Constituency Member of Parliament seat which he lost to a one Kenneth Lubogo from National Resistance Movement. On August 19, 2016, He lost the first election petition case in Jinja High Court on and on November 22, 2017 he lost the second in the Court of Appeal where court directed to pay all court expenses amounting to over Shs. 100m to his opponent .
