NBS Television’s journalist Simon Muyanga Lutaaya has this morning appeared before Jinja High Court.
His appearance follows the arrested made on 30th April over for failure to pay a court fine of Shs153 million.
The Former FDC candidate for the Bulamongi Constituency MP seat, filed an election petition contesting the victory of NRM’s Kenneth Lubogo but lost the cases both at Jinja High Court on August 19, 2016 and the Court of Appeal on November 22, 2017.
In the same plea, Jesse Byaruhanga the Jinja High Court deputy registrar in January this year issued an arrest warrant for Muyanga after he failed to honour court summons, something the registrar described as contempt of court.
Muyanga was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment at Kirinya prison in Jinja or else pay the many before his property is sold off to recover the money.
In bid to rescue the eloquent Journalist from trouble, a number of efforts have been put on board by his party members ( Forum for Democratic Change), friends and work mates to see that this money fundraised is made.
