It was a surprising moment in the August House this afternoon as some lawmakers well remembered for distancing themselves from the controversial age limit bill decried police misconduct.
According to Hon Stephen Mukitale (Buliisa County), told Parliament how he has been threatened by unknown UPDF officials in his constituency.
Mukitale revealed with much fear that he has been attacked and even denied access to some parts in his constituency without clear reason.
The vocal lawmaker asked the army to immediately withdraw the army officials said to be restricting movement of people or else he uses another means of self-defense.
On speaking on the matter, the Defense Minister, Hon. Adolf Mwesige pledged to cause an immediate meeting to discuss the allegations made by Hon Mukitale Stephen regarding army officials in Buliisa district.
Minister Mwesige added that there is no body including the army who can stop a member of parliament from accessing his constituency.
