The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has this morning launched the party Manifesto Week.
Speaking during a news conference at Media Center in Kampala, the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda revealed that vision 2020 of the Middle Income Status is still achievable.
Rugunda added that though there challenges with some promises but significant success has also been registered.
He says for the 2 years covered since elections, the Kisanja Akuna Muchezo has implemented 38% of the NRM manifesto.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to launch the Manifesto with its achievements that have been made in infrastructure development, oil & gas, electricity generation, transport, human capital development, growth, employment & macro-economic stability etc.” Rugunda said.
Rugunda also warned government officials against engaging in corruption citing that there is no more time of negotiating with people pulling the state backwards.
“Let me warn anyone planning to engage in corruption that the long arm of Government will catch up with them and deal with them, accordingly. Those trying to acquire wealth through the wrong means as we implement the manifesto will not be tolerated.” He added.
Throughout the week from Monday 14th, different ministries and government departments will be updating the country on their work.
