Green light as Uganda Hippos Outmuscles Cameroon In First Leg At Lugogo

Uganda National U-20 team, the Hippos overcame Cameroon in the opening leg of the first leg of the Total CAF U-20 qualifier played at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala on Saturday.

Vipers Sports Club forward Steven Mukwala scored the decisive goal of the day.

Mukwala scored in the 44th minute of the game after an assist by left back Robert Kitabalwa.

The goal margin would have widened had Mukwala, Allan Okello and defender Geofrey Wasswa converted their respective chances created.

Uganda’s Abubaker Kasule and Kitabalwa were cautioned by Kenyan referee Peter Waweru.

The match was also watched by the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo, members of the Executive Committee, delegates, FUFA staff and a size number of fans.

The return leg will be played this coming weekend in Yaoundé.
