A pastor and his wife were on Sunday morning killed by gunmen at the Gudele residential area in the capital Juba, police authorities said.
The pastor was identified as Johnson Makueth Akeen and his wife from the House of God for All Nations.
Daniel Justin Boula, spokesman of South Sudan police service, confirmed to Radio Tamazuj the incident and said the gunmen shot and killed the couple at Gudele Block 4 in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“The attack occurred around 3 am, and our forces rushed to the scene of the crime. We found a pastor called Johnson Makueth and his wife killed in their home. One of their neighbors was also injured,” Justin said.
He said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act. “We wanted to confirm the incident, but efforts are ongoing to arrest the perpetrators. We have more information but we will inform the media when thorough investigations are done,” he said.
