The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has failed to reach consensus with the Justice Forum Party regarding the Bugiri election.
This follows a proposal by JEEMA president Asuman Basalilwa that the entire opposition should front him as a candidate in the fourth coming Bugiri election.
According to counsel Basalirwa, this will ensure victory for the opposition and entire revolutionaries
However making matters worse, the forum for Democratic Change has since rejected the proposal saying it has no guarantee that Basalirwa will win the race since he is not on the ground.
Speaking to journalists at the party headquarters in Najjanakumbi this morning, the FDC Vice president for the eastern region Salaamu Musumba says they are going to nominate their own candidate for the race.
She says Jeema rejected an earlier proposal of seeking the views of the electorate on who they want to represent them in parliament.
She adds that let the strongest candidate win the race since FDC has never negotiated with anyone over positions to lead the people of Uganda.
