Former opposition forum for Democratic Change party President Gen. Mugisha Muntu has said that he is not shocked with former inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura’s arrest.
Speaking while appearing on NTV on Thursday evening Muntu said that as someone who has been in uniform for decades, knew that the arrest even took long to happen.
Muntu said that he warned the embattled officer but all his advice fell on deaf ears since they thought they own the country.
“I want people to know that Uganda is bigger than individuals, when I warned these people, they thought I was talking that because I’m in opposition and never took it serious but now they are learning a lesson. We have served this government and we know the characters of Mr. Museveni.” Muntu said.
The former army commander added that the evolution of arrests will not only stop at police officers, even Ministers and politicians need to stand warned because people in the communities where they come from aren’t happy with the way they are running government offices.
This comment comes barely two days after the arrest of former IGP Kayihura who is currently sweating with charges related to abuse of office.
