Following the massive police clean-up, the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) has continued making more arrests of senior officers.
According to news reaching our desk reveals that the Mbarara District Police Commander Jaffar Magyezi has been also arrested.
Magyezi who was arrested yesterday joins the list of police and army officers arrested and grilled over different crimes allegedly committed during the reign of Gen Kale Kayihura.
Gen. Kale Kayihura was arrested from his farm in Lyantonde, airlifted to Mbuya barracks and later transferred to Makindye army prison where he has been detained since last week on Wednesday.
The spokesperson of UPDF 2nd Division that is based at Makenke in Mbarara, Lt Geoffrey Sande, confirmed the information though didn’t specifically why the arrest was made.
“Magyezi was taken to Mbuya yesterday but I don’t know why they want him. I think he will be back shortly,” Lt Sunday told our Insider in a telephone interview.
