Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo has rapped famous Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Hon. Kyagulwanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine to resign and leave his position to people who want it.
This statement was a reply to the self-proclaimed Ghetto Gladiator after he said that he even feels ashamed for being a Member of Parliament.
Speaking while appearing on Frontline talk show, Opondo said that if Hon. Kyagulanyi is ashamed of being an MP, the he should go back to where he was as Bobi Wine someone who’s music we enjoyed and still enjoy.
“The best thing kyagulanyi should do is resign and leave the position to people who want, if he is ashamed of being an MP. He should go back to where he was as Bobi Wine someone who’s music we enjoyed and still enjoy.” He said.
Kyagulanyi insists that its unfortunate that some MPs don’t understand what security is.
He says they are busy talking about security now because one Member of Parliament was killed forgetting that security is not only for lawmakers but for everyone regardless of the social status.
On Wednesday, Members of Parliament shocked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni when they revealed how some of their body guards now fear to move with them in their cars.
This statement was made during the meeting held at the office of the office of prime minister as they discussed security matters in the country.
This meeting followed the increasing insecurity and murder cases that even claimed president Museveni celebrated fanatic Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga who was murdered along with his body in Kawanda a Kampala suburb.
On hearing this, President Yoweri Museveni immediately directed the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) to take over the security of Members of Parliament that feel insecure.
Museveni added that those who feel insecure following claims that the police officers formerly assigned to them have abandoned duty need to get a separate vehicle to transport the UPDF escort soldiers after MPs reported that the police escorts also didn’t want to sit in.
