Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 70 year old woman in Kyengera.
Ms Tereza Ziribaggwa a resident of Mugongo A Kyengera Town Council Wakiso District was a mother to Denis Batte a Ugandan FUFA referee.
The body of the 70 years old was found outside her house on the morning of Monday 25th June 2018 lying in a pool of blood with several cuts.
Police recovered some exhibits from the crime scene including a blood stained panga that is suspected to have been used in the murder.
Intensified investigations which include questioning of friends, neighbors and relatives led to the arrest of four suspects who have been identified as Paul Mayanja 35, Denis Luburwa 40, Charles Nsubuga 47 and Dinah Tino aged 32.
Upon arrest, Tino was found wearing blood stained clothes which prompted the teams to
carry out a search at her home. A number of properties were recovered.
These include; hand bag, cash box with 60000/-mattress and a suitcase with clothes which items were positively identified to be belonging to the deceased.
During the search at the home of Mayanja, blood stained bedsheets were recovered.
Its believed that Tino one of the prime suspects and friend to the deceased allegedly participated in the killing with an aim of robbing belongings.
The recovered exhibits have since been sent to Government Analytical Laboratory (GAL) in Wandegeya for examination as investigations are still on going.
The suspects are currently detained at Kyengera Police Station.
