Lukwago’s security beefed up over death threats

Elias Lukwago

The Inspector General of police Martin Okoth Ochola has directed that the Lord Mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago be given more security.

The directive comes after Lukwago raised concerns that he was receiving death threats from unknown sources on social media.

This call comes barely a month after the gruesome murder of Arua Member of Parliament Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga who was killed on the way to his home in Kawanda along with his body.

During last week’s session with the presidents on matters of security, some Members of Parliament disclosed how their security is at stake to an extend of their body guard fearing to board the same cars with them.

In his reaction to this allegation, President directed that all lawmakers living in fear should immediately apply and Uganda People’s Defense Forces commandos including a patrol car.
