The Executive Director of Uganda Communication Commission Eng. Godfrey Mutabazi has warned using media houses to fight their internal battles.
Speaking at the UCC Annual Broadcasters’ conference on Wednesday, It is unfortunate, that some of these people, have used religion to defraud or mislead unsuspecting members of the public.
“It has come to our attention, that some pastors have turned Radio and TV stations into battle grounds to send insults & defame fellow or rival pastors. It is unfortunate, that some of these people, have used religion to defraud or mislead unsuspecting members of the public,” Eng Mutabaazi stated.
He however warned saying that though our culture indicates that leaders don’t have to engage in religious battles, it’s high time the perpetrators faced the law.
In the same plea, Mutabazi also noted that media houses that have adamantly refused to register and renew their licenses to immediately sort themselves out but their stay in the media industry is very limited.
