Social Media tax not only fake but immoral – Bobi Wine

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has vowed not to back off the fight against the newly introduced Social Media and Mobile Money Taxes.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with NTV Uganda, Bobi said that OTT is not only fake but outrageously immoral.

Bobi wine says that though he is on record rejecting the motion on the flow of the House, He still believes that majority of the lawmakers were lured into voting what they didn’t know.

The celebrated Mubanda Wa Kabaka adds that he is the caravan with some of his colleagues to raise awareness in the public since the legislature is misrepresenting its electorates.

“I want the public to be put on attention so that when this bill comes back the House, they can be able to hold their lawmakers accountable.” Bobi Wine said.

He added saying that he is against the manner in which taxes are misused by some government officials insisting that social media and mobile money tax is outrageously immoral.

Parliament will on Wednesday meet and revisit the social media and Mobile Money taxes bill that has overwhelmingly given birth to massive criticism and rejection from different classes of the public.
