Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has been picked up by security personnel and driven to an unknown detention point.
This comes after the tragic incident that happened in Arua town where the lawmaker has been camping in the hunt for votes ahead of Wednesday’s by-election.
Before the arrest, Bobi Wine’s driver Kawooya Yasini was shot and by press time, Royal Hotel where the lawmaker was residing is still sealed off and no one is allowed to either move in or out.
The incident happened after a group of supporters to Independent- Bobi Wine- backed candidate Kasiano Wadri, collided with supporters of NRM candidate Nusrah Tiperu and chaos ensued.
It took effort from Police to disperse the two groups with tear gas and live bullets. It is one of the bullets that tore through the flesh of Kawoya, who was seated in Bobi Wine’s Tundra car.
Till now its still not clear regarding who might have killed the driver but according to our reporter in Arua, there was a scuffle between the ruling party supporters and Opposition leaning Bobi Wine supporters.
