Uganda Revenue Authority has yesterday 14th August, 2018 handed over a recovered school van to the deputy headmaster of Namilyango Junior Boys School, Mr Mathew Ochieng.
URA enforcement officers attached to Busitema customs station working with the police based at Seeta Police Station received intel on 12th August, 2018 about a stolen school van (Toyota Hiace) Reg No UAG251F belonging to Namilyango Junior Boys School.
The intel placed the stolen car on the journey to Kenya through Busia. The team duly set up strategically ready to recover the stolen car.
At 7:40pm on the same day, the stolen vehicle arrived at the check point driven by a one Wasike Isaac where the officers intercepted the van, arrested the driver whom they duly forwarded together with the vehicle to Nakawa Intelligence Revenue Office for further management of the offence.
This brings the number of stolen cars recovered in the past one year by URA in coordination with partner agencies to seven with the Pakwach customs check point contributing six of these recoveries.
