Besides the branded Uganda Prisons colours, it’s easy one to believe that the organization track was ferrying cattle from Kiryandongo as MPs were being taken back to prison.
The people being ferried were not only many in number but the so called ‘nobles’ if one decided to describe them by the tittles, wealth and positions they hold.
Among the lawmakers on this track was the Jinja East Member of Parliament Hon. Paul Mwiru, Hon. Gerald Karuhanga (Ntungamo Municipality), newly elected Arua’s Kassiano Wadir, former Kampala City mayoral candidate Hon. Mike Mabike among other activists.
Regardless of the fact that they were appearing before the upcountry court, no one can’t claim that the entire Uganda prisons institution didn’t have proper means of transport to help the embattled leaders safe and sound.
It should be noted that the department of Uganda police traffic department for years now banned the transportation of people of tracks and pickups but it’s unfortunate that the vehicle used for carry prison’s livestock and kitchen supplements is the same being used to carry lawmakers.
These MPs face treason, inciting violence, malicious damage among other charges that erupted from the recently climaxed Arua municipality by-election.
