Security beefed up at Makindye barrack as mega pro Bobi Wine protest looms

Security has this evening been beefed up at Makindye military barracks where the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament is being detained.

The red top officers have been deployed both in and out ahead of tomorrow’s highly anticipated Free Bobi Wine ‘red ribbon’ protest.

This protests calls for the unconditional release of Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu who was arrested on Monday night in the North Western town of Arua.

Bobi wine was arrested along with 33 others who include Members of Parliament, activists among others. However the event harshly sparking off the demonstration is that the arrested have been tortured by security operatives.

According to Bobi Wine’s lawyer Asuman Basalirwa, Bobi Wine was beaten to pulp and has can’t walk, speak, or even eat. However making matters worse, the tortured lawmaker was yesterday charged of illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and remanded till 23rd August.
