2016 Kampala district woman Member of Parliament aspirant Ms. Aidah Nakuya has also condemned government’s move to block the Kyadondo East legislator Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine together with the Mityana Municipality lawmaker Hon. Francis Zaake from traveling abroad for better medication.
This came after police stopped a move to have the legislator flown out of the country last evening from Rubaga hospital to access specialized treatment.
In a statement issued last evening, the police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said Zaake was trying to flee the country and was apprehended and taken to Mulago hospital for further examination and management under police custody and would be produced before court at an appropriate time.
The two are reported to have been taken to Kiruddu hospital.
Aidah Nakuya wonders whether the Law is more important than the life. “Does the law apply on the dead or Living? They have a right to health. I think it’s wise to let them get treatment then try them.”
Relatedly, Barbie Kyagulanyi says her husband Robert Kyagulanyi was once again tortured by security forces during his re-arrest at Entebbe airport. She said Bobi was violently arrested by security forces at Entebbe airport as he was heading to Washington, USA for treatment even when he has clearance from court to travel.
“He told me that as soon as they closed the ambulance doors, he was again brutally beaten in front of a government doctor. They switched off the lights in the ambulance and started battering him! Bobi is now back in pain and he is dumped at Kirudu hospital. He has missed his flight and time is running out.” Barbie laments.
