Foreign affairs state minister Henry Okello Oryem has rebuked opposition politicians seeking to discredit government abroad and describing it as unpatriotic.
Speaking to our Insider yesterday, Okello said that Uganda has moved a long journey that doesn’t deserve blackmail form its nationals.
He added that if the country is handed any sanctions, it will be the ordinary Ugandans to suffer, urging politicians to avoid pushing their selfish agendas at the expense of the country.
Oryem also attacked Bobi Wine’s lawyer over claims of the state’s torture of civilians advising him to start by investigating the same in his own country.
This follows a press conference held by Kyadondo East Mp Robert Kyagulanyi and his American lawyer Robert Amsterdam in Washington DC yesterday where government was attacked for reported violation of people’s rights.
During this press conference, Kyagulanyi and his lawyer castigated Ugandan’s government for the continuous torture of its people using military machinery.
Bobi wine has promised to continue with the fight as soon as he completes medication in United States where he is now.
However his international lawyer Robert Amsterdam asked America government to suspend all military assistance to Uganda.
