President Museveni has challenged Kampala and Wakiso residents to be mindful of the people they vote for.
Speaking to one of the gatherings in Ndeeba a Kampala suburb where he was inspecting some of the youth skilling projects, Museveni said that its has been hard for the people to benefit from different government programs because they vote the wrong leaders.
He says they vote greedy leaders especially those in opposition who are preoccupied with opposing government instead of lobbying for the people.
“Support leaders who will ensure your problems are attended to, not those whose pre-occupation is to oppose government programmes.” Museveni stated.
He said that this has not only affected only the Kampala voters but the entire economy citing that Ugandans spend over Shs18,000 billion annually importing all sorts of things and yet this means they are giving away not just money but jobs to people in other countries.
“Take the example of hides and skin. Uganda sells these in raw form to other countries but later imports shoes, chairs and other products made from the hides and skin. We have to stop this by adding value and producing products for sale and export.” Museveni challenged the Youth.
The Fountain of Honor also urged the youth to acquire skills that will create jobs and stop Ugandans from importing things that can easily be made in the country.
He toured different Saccos in Wakiso and Kampala districts, offering them working tools and start-up capital that include Katabi Artisans Sacco, Najja Furniture and Metal Works Association, Namasuba Furniture Makers Association, Kibuye Furniture Makers, Kibuye Welders Group, Nalukolongo Furniture Makers Association and Busega Welders and Furniture Makers groups.

Useless in what sense, because they dont steal and bribe the youth like you do?
Its because as President you have the benefit of tax payers money, therefore it is
right that you provide this things that you are dishing out to the youth.
Those leaders you call useless DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO TAX PAYERS MONEY! YOU DO!
