The President of the Republic of Uganda H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has sent his sincere condolences to the tragic Tanzania marine accident.
This incident happened on lake Victoria on Thursday evening when the MV Nyerere ferry capsized drowning over 100 people.
On behalf of the people of Uganda and on my own behalf, Museveni expressed deep felt condolences to President J. Pombe Magufuli, the people of the Democratic Republic of Tanzania and the EAC upon this sudden loss.
“I have heard of the tragic accident on Lake Victoria where the MV Nyerere ferry capsized, drowning over 100 people. On behalf of the people of Uganda and on my own behalf, I wish to express our deep felt condolences to President J. Pombe Magufuli, the people of the Democratic Republic of Tanzania and the EAC upon this sudden loss.” He stated.
Officials including police, army and the Red Cross are still fighting tooth and nail to recover the missing bodies.
