Former Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye has led a delegation of prominent political leaders to the rural Sheema North to campaign for and mobilize support for FDC candidate Guma Nuwagaba.
Speaking to hundreds of voters, Besigye challenged them to be firm and resist all forms of threats and pressure.
Besigye added that if the ruling party distributes money, there should not be time to waste but eat the money.
He added that voting opposition is the only way that bring the regime down citing that Sheema North victory is so important as far as the struggle is concerned.
Dr Besigye was accompanied by the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, party Chairman Wasswa Birigwa, Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Oppositon Chief Whip in Parliament Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda, Kawempe South’s Hon. Munyagwa Mubarak, Hon. Buhwejju’s Mwijukye Francis, Rukungiri’s Hon. Roland Kaginda, Mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe, among several FDC officials from Western and South Western Uganda.
Three people are in the race for the Sheema North parliamentary seat ahead of the October 8 election. These include Ms Naome Kibaaju NRM, Mr Guma Nuwagaba FDC and Mr Felix Mujuni an Independent.
