The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) has disowned the video recording that went viral on social media early this week showing a civilian supporter of Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssntamu being tortured by a man in the army uniform.
According the force’s deputy spokesperson Deo Akiki, the video was stage managed with a motive to tarnish the image of the force.
He adds that the video could have been shot to cover up a case of kidnap.
He added that various security agencies have taken up the matter to establish the source of the controversial video.
