Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament has accused government security officials for taking people’s lives for granted.
Speaking while appearing on CBS FM, Nambooze said that government has not done enough to see that all its people are safe. She says that several leaders living in fear have reported their cases to Police but no impressive measures are being done.
This comment follows last week’s anonymous assassination list that went viral on social media naming leaders that are yet to be killed. These include political, religious and cultural leaders.
Nambooze adds there is no reason for the officials to claim as if all is fine yet leaders are living in fear.
“That how some of the fallen leaders started, they reported death threats and the police force delayed to respond leading to the assassination of people like Muhammad Kirumira, Col. Ibrahim Abiriga among others.” She said.
Among them are; Ntungamo Municipality MP Gerald Karuhanga, Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa, Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Kampala Minister Beti Kamya, Kasibante himself, deputy police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, titular head of the Kibuli Muslim sect Prince Kassim Nakibinge, Kibuli deputy mufti Sheikh Mahmudu Kibaate, Buganda Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, former Kampala South Regional Police Commander Siraj Bakaleke.
Police responded with a statement that have started investigations into the matter. This is being handled by Old Kampala Police Station.
Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima adds that precautionary measures will be undertaken to protect the people on the list.
