I Swear Don’t Ever step In My Constituency Too – Kenya’s MP Owino Warns Museveni

Kenya’s Embakasi East legislator and former SONU president, Hon Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has banned Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni from stepping into his constituency until democratic reforms are initiated in the Republic of Uganda.

Babu Owino has revealed that Museveni owns several investments in Embakasi East and he will not let him have access in his region as he has already formed a special committee to investigate the source of Museveni’s wealth in Embakasi East.

Few days ago, president Museveni banned Babu Owino from stepping into Uganda accusing him of inciting his citizens in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

In a statement on Sunday, the vocal MP said that the ban will not stop him from championing for democracy in Africa and that his friendship with Ugandan opposition MP Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) will not stop.

“Honorable Bobi Wine and I remain brothers in ideology and no amount of intimidation will stop us from working together to liberate the people of Africa! I wish to categorically state that General Haji’s ban will not deter me from agitating for greater democratic space in Uganda, Kenya and indeed, the entire continent. I will not falter in my pursuit for respect for human rights and the meaningful involvement of the youth in our nations’ affairs,” read part of Babu’s statement.

He went on to state that President Museveni had overstayed in power and he should be aware that nothing lasts forever. Babu added that the wishes of Ugandans would soon come to pass.

“The arc of the moral universe may be long but it always bends towards justice. President Museveni must know that nothing lasts forever. He has overstayed his welcome and soon, the popular wishes of the Ugandan people will outweigh his use of force and violence. I urge the youth in Uganda not to be discouraged from this minor setback, I will come to Uganda whether the guy is alive or dead. We will overcome!” said Babu Owino.

his statement comes a few days after he received a letter from Uganda’s Internal Affairs Minister General Haji Abubakar banning him from travelling to Uganda without special clearance from his office.
