Senior presidential advisor on Media affairs Tamale Mirundi has described Uganda as a troublesome country engulfed by cliques of dangerous and greedy people.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Tamale insists that Uganda would be like Somalia today if the president had failed to unmask the mafias that tirelessly worked hard to cripple his leadership.
He adds that though there seems to be some sort of sanity in the country, the pearl of Africa is still seated a volcano (institutional crisis) that is only being suppressed by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF).
The former State House aid notes that the only reason the Head of state is still at the center of everything is that he has managed to keep the army solid and disciplined.
“you all know that Uganda has several institutions, but the only pillar holding Museveni in power is the UPDF, that was not infiltrated by Mafias like Amama Mbabazi, Gilbert Bukenya among others. But the rest, are all hooded institution and I want to bet, the Intelligence services have a lot of Mafias and whatever effort Kaka may deploy, he may not succeed because he lacks powers and authority like Minister Kahinda Otaffire who can sack the entire institution.” He stated.
Tamale claims that the scandals going on the bank of Uganda is not important but the only challenge is that the People supposed to fight corruption are the most corrupt ones.
Recently while appearing appearing on Top Radio on Monday evening, Tamale asked the president to remain vigilant and cut his affiliation with people that can’t handle the increasing political pressure like the secretariat full of mediocrity.
“People Power is a dangerous group of players that can’t be encountered the old tactics of the ruling National Resistance Movement of rallies and press conferences. There is need of redeploying veterans” Tamale said.
Tamale added that officials like former Minister of Security Hon. Henry Tumukunde, Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Gen. Kahinda Otafire and former Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Jim Muhwezi are instrumental people that need to be brought back on the scene to encounter the mushrooming people power faction without fear or favour.
