Government has revealed how the case in which former Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura is accused of failure to protect war materials is still under investigations.
This was revealed on Monday morning when Kayihura reported before the Army court as fulfillment of his bail condition.
Gen. Kayihura was ordered by the court’s chairman Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti to report every first Monday of the month for purposes of extending the bail.
According to court, Kayihura’s case has not yet been listed for trial.
Prosecution alleges that between 2012 and 2016 the former IGP aided the actions of surbodinate police officers without hindrance to kidnap, and illegally repatriated 3 Rwandan exiles, refugees and Ugandan Citizens to Rwanda.
Gen. Kayihura is also accused of failing to supervise and ensure accountability for arms and ammunition issued to units under the office of the IGP.
