Makindye west lawmaker Hon. Allan Ssewanyana has this afternoon been granted bail.
The vocal youthful leader was arrested on Monday when he held a protest outside government owned Kirudu Hospital.
The protest was against the huge smell coming from the hospital’s poorly managed sewage.
According to the charge sheet, Ssewanyana has been charged of holding unlawful gathering against the public Order Management Act of 2015 which states that Assemblies without notice are prohibited (Article 7(4), Article 8(3)), its organisers or participants subject to a two year prison sentence under Article 117 of the Penal Code.
