The Uganda People’s Defense forces (UPDF) is holding two of its own following the high levels of moral bankruptcy depicted in Seeta, along Kampala Jinja Road.
In a tweet made this evening, officers RA/221607 L/CPL Bushindiki Peter and RA/230927 Pte Okurut John Robert, are now under arrest as investigation into the matter continues.
According to the force’s spokesperson, – Brig. Richard Karemire its very regrettable for what happened.
“We have been informed of the incident involving a Police traffic Sergeant and UPDF military Police Soldiers. It is very regrettable and apologies to our Police Sister.” He said.
Brig. Karemire added that army and Uganda Police Force are still establishing the facts and Findings that will guide action to be taken.
This incident has however put the army on the spotlight over the level of indiscipline depicted towards a female police traffic officer.
The dramatic scene happened at Seeta, Mukono District where UPDF officers manhandled a traffic officer identified as Esther Namaganda who stopped the vehicle they were travelling in.
The army officers attached to Uganda’s ambassador to Burundi, Maj. Gen. Kyaligonza.
However, this incident has caused a lot of commotion as the Uganda Police officers highlight issues to do with disrespect as the Deputy Inspector General of Police Asan Kasingye, says that the incident is so unacceptable.
