Crested Cranes head coach Faridah Bulega has released a squad comprising of 23 players ahead of the Kampala regional tour on Saturday, 16th March 2019.
This will be the first time that the women’s national team will play a regional tour game. They will play against Kampala Select regional side.
The team comprises of four goalkeepers, six defenders, eight midfielders and five strikers with the core of the team that played at the 2018 CECAFA Women’s Championship maintained.
Skipper Tracy Jones Akiror, reigning FUFA Female footballer Ruth Aturo and FUFA Women Elite leading top scorer Hasifa Nassuna are all part of the squad.
The team will have two days of non-residential training on 14th and 15th March 2019 at Maroons stadium, Luzira.
According to FUFA Communications Manager, Ahmed Hussein, the motive of the tour is to move the team nearer to the fans but also help the team play more games.
‘Like it is the case with the senior men’s team, FUFA wants to take the Crested Cranes to the people but at the same time helps the team to remain active.’ He said.
