Soroti Municipality MP Hebert Ariko (FDC) has mourned late commissioner of Police Christine Alalo who died in the Ethiopian ill-fated plane on Sunday.

CP Alalo who hails from Serere district in Teso subregion was the only Ugandan aboard the Kenya-bound plane which went crashing hardly 6minutes in the air killing over 100 passengers.

FDC’s Ariko eulogized Alalo in his tribute posted on his facebook page as a mother of distinguished character who served her country with utmost dedication.

Below is Ariko’s eulogy;

Commissioner of Police Christine Alalo, daughter of Papa Stanley Etori and Toto Atubo, the loving mother to Emma and Alvin; Best friend and soulmate of your brother Peter Elamu AKA Lawyer, who is my childhood friend and partner in crime, yes now it dawns on us and me that you’ve gone to be with the Lord.

As a friend of Peter you took me as one of your brothers in the family. Your radiant smile and happy face will forever remain a memory for us to treasure.

You always took time to commend us for the good deeds and corrected where we took a wrong stride. A desire to see your younger brothers remain good members of society.

You told us stories, tales and more stories about your work and vocation in the Uganda Police Force and in particular your Peace Keeping Postings. You gallantly worked so hard to see that Peace is enjoyed in Africa; the reason you braved the heat and harsh conditions of South Sudan and Somalia. Your candle has burnt out while you were at it. Selflessly you gave your life and whole to Uganda and Africa, despite your young family.

I will forever treasure, your care and effort to see me settle in on my new consultancy assignment in South Sudan in 2009. A difficult environment you’d already been braving under UNMISS. I can’t forget the enthusiasm with which you drove that huge UN Landcruiser over a potholed road, just to see that I can enjoy a Ugandan Meal at the Sacred Sister’s Convent… I recall each moment vividly but it’s only a story and tale we will share when we meet before the Lord for I know you are in Heaven Smiling and Laughing… like you always did. Happy people stay with the Lord.

Thank you for the invaluable support, guidance and advice you gave me when I decided to join politics. I know it wasn’t what you wished that I do, but all the same as sister and friend you supported me. You always cared about what those around you wanted.

Fare Thee Well Afande Christine, we will miss your smile, we will miss your narrations, we will miss your laughter, we will miss a dedicated, hard working and committed sister, friend and officer of Uganda.

As you stay in the caring arms of God, be at Peace for we shall stay close to your best friend, consultant and brother Peter. The Lord, your family and friends will watch over your loving boys.

May your beautiful Soul find an Eternal Peaceful Rest with the Lord Jesus Christ.
